Those seem to be the two the are obvious favorites but what if teams like Carolina and St. Louis use their bountiful and slight cap space well?

I’d say the Blues. Probably have the best overall roster headed into next year, and play in an easier conference.

I think a case could also be made for the bruins. They will have virtually the same roster, and the bolts and leafs will likely regress a bit due to the fact that their cap situations and new contracts will mean they lose depth and have zero room to add anyone.

He turned down a contract extension, it wasnt for anywhere near that though. Id guess it was closer to 5-5.5. He probably ends up with 6-6.5.

That Ekblad contract is and was an anomaly. It was a bad deal and no one has come close to getting a similar offer yet.
